It is a time for Muslims to fast for the sake of God (Arabic: الله‎, trans: Allah) and to offer more prayer than usual. During Ramadan, Muslims ask forgiveness for past sins, pray for guidance and help in refraining from everyday evils, and try to purify themselves through self-restraint and good deeds.

The Chinese ambassador to the Philippines is satisfied with the conduct of the investigation on the August 23 hostage tragedy in Manila, which claimed the lives of eight Hong Kong tourists.

This was the message of Ambassador Liu Juanchao during his courtesy call to Vice President Jejomar Binay on Thursday morning.

In a report over QTV's “News on Q," Liu extended the Chinese government's appreciation of the sympathy expressed by the Philippine government over the deaths and injuries of the tourists, most of them Chinese nationals.
